Angelica Cantanti has brought some great people and great musicians
into the lives of Angelica singers - people who have inspired the
singers to new heights of performing excellence and changed the
singers lives through the message of the music being shared together.
These artists have included composers Steve Heitzeg, Dan Kallman,
and Malcolm Dalglish, the Cavani String Quartet, and Tom Davis and
his marvelous puppets and masks.
Continuing in this tradition of bringing "top notch",
inspiring, life-changing artists to work with the Angelica singers,
the staff has invited Rollo Dilworth to visit Angelica in February.
Creative, energetic, engaging, charismatic, fun, great musician,
good rehearsal technician, used the kids' musical language to teach
other musical concepts - his work with young singers is amazing!
In February Angelica Singers and guest choirs will have the opportunity
to make music with the very popular clinician, conductor, composer,
and educator from Chicago, Rollo Dilworth. Saturday February 3 will
feature all of the Angelica singers, plus guests from the community,
in a workshop with Rollo. Sunday February 4, 2:30 PM at St. Michael's
Lutheran Church, the community is invited to watch Rollo "in
action" as he makes music with close to 300 young singers.
His performing endeavors have taken him to the continents of Europe,
Asia, Africa and Australia.
Although his academic, educational and composing endeavors have
gained him great respect around the world, it is his ability to
connect with young singers with overflowing energy and enthusiasm
that will make a difference in the lives of the singers who will
be privileged to work with him in February in Bloomington.
