Snow Days Concert

Sunday January 29
St. Michael's Lutheran Church

Featuring Malcolm Dalglish. composer, storyteller, conductor, and virtuoso hammer dulcimer player from Bloomington, Indiana. Malcolm will be with the Angelica Singers for the weekend of Snow Camp. The Sunday Concert will feature Malcolm playing the hammer dulcimer and music composed by Malcolm. One of these pieces will be "You There in the Stars" written for the Angelica Cantanti Choir in 2002. This piece features a technique from central Africa called hindihoo in which a note, sung close to the top of a small bamboo shoot, or bottle is cut off with a burst of air that creates a new note with a windy "pan pipe" sound and pitch. Also included will be other compositions written by Malcolm. A favorite when Malcolm visited in 2002, was the old American folk song, with a new twist, "Froggie!
