CANTUS is an professional 8 member men's vocal ensemble known for its trademark warmth and blend, innovative programming and riveting performances. Based here in Minneapolis, they are one of the nation's few full-time ensembles. They perform and are known all over the world.

Feb. 21 - College Conductor Panel.

Bring your questions and find out what to expect from college music departments. Scheduled: Dr. Erin Colwitz, Northern Michigan University, Dr. Lee Nelson, Wartburg College, Iowa, Aaron Humble, MN State University Mankato, Dr. Angela Kasper, Western Washington University, Dr. Michael Culloton, Concordia College and Dr. Anton Armstrong, St. Olaf College.

 

Feb. 28 - Songwriting workshop with Composer/Conductor Jim Papoulis. http://www.jimpapoulis.com/

New York City- based Jim Papoulis will lead us in a Songwriting Workshop to learn the basics of song composition and learn how to write and perform an original work.

 

Mar. 14- Masterclass with Hollywood's Deke Sharon, Producer of NBC's "The Sing-Off" and all the "Pitch Perfect" movies. https://www.dekesharon.com/

Deke Sharon will be calling into our Zoom session from California. He's a popular guy in Hollywood as the producer of the NBC Show "The Sing-Off" and he was the arranger, music director and vocal producer for the movies "Pitch Perfect" & "Pitch Perfect 2" & "Pitch Perfect 3" starring Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson.

Soprano & Alto voices currently in Grades 9 - 12.

 

DATES

Sundays, January 10 - April 18, 2021 (14 weeks).  No rehearsal Easter 4/4.

 

TIME

6:30pm - 7:00pm - Soprano 1 sectional (30 minutes)

7:00pm - 7:30pm - Soprano 2 sectional (30 minutes)

7:30pm- 8:00pm - Alto sectional (30 minutes)

8:00pm - 8:45pm - ALL Soprano & Alto voices (45 minutes)

 

Total: 75 minutes

DETAILS

Singers are expected to commit by attending both sectional and full group rehearsals each Sunday.

Mr. Brown will determine voice parts for new singers.

Singers will be required to review and practice music on their own during the week. 

Singers will be required to submit an email address and check it regularly for weekly updates.
