We are thrilled to announce that Nicole Thietje has joined Angelica Cantanti Youth Choirs as our new Vivace Director starting in the fall of 2026!

 

Nicole is currently the Choral Director at New Prague High School, where she directs four curricular choirs, an extracurricular show choir, and serves as music director for NPHS musical productions.  She brings extensive youth choir experience, having directed the Treble Choir at Northfield Youth Choirs for six seasons, served as Co-Artistic Director, and led their summer camp program. 

 

Nicole is deeply involved in the broader choral community as an active member of MMEA and ACDA-MN, currently serving as MMEA President-Elect. She has directed honor choirs at the state level, including the 2019 ACDA-MN 7/8 TTB State Honor Choir and the 2023–2024 MMEA All State Soprano Alto Choir, and co-chaired the Vocal Jazz Immersion Choir at the 2023 National ACDA Conference. 

 

Nicole holds an undergraduate degree in Music Teaching/Performance from the University of West Florida, a Master of Arts in Music Education from the University of St. Thomas, and is currently pursuing her PhD in Music Education at the University of Minnesota. She is passionate about building community, fostering positive learning environments, and believes her students are her best teachers. We are excited for our Vivace singers to experience her leadership, musicianship, and joyful approach to teaching.
